There is no consensus on the definition of this dynamic and heterogeneous category. In the narrow sense, it includes long drinks and cocktails including a spirit, ready to drink, sold in cans or bottles. IWSR proposes a broader definition that includes flavored alcoholic beverages whose base is not necessarily a distilled alcohol. This broad definition includes hard seltzers, flavored sparkling drinks whose alcoholic base is fermented or distilled. It also includes fermented alcoholic beverages, hard coffees, hard teas, hard kombuchas, wine spritzer/coolers and flavored alcoholic beverages.
